A/Prof. Roy is a Director at Southern Oncology Clinical Research Unit and an accredited Medical Oncologist at Southern Oncology SA, Flinders Private Hospital (FPH), Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer (FCIC), and Flinders Medical Centre (FMC). He completed his specialist training in Medical Oncology at leading tertiary cancer care centres in Adelaide, South Australia, and then pursued a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, where he specialised further in the management of gastrointestinal malignancies.
A/Prof. Roy has a strong research focus in his current clinical practice and is involved in a variety of clinical and translational research projects within the Clinical Trials Unit at the Department of Medical Oncology at FCIC. He is affiliated with several high-profile research groups, including the Australian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG) and the ANZ Melanoma Trials Group (ANZMTG), and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, along with presenting several abstracts at major conferences. He has also been named as an investigator on multiple grants related to medical oncology clinical trials and serves as the principal investigator in several ongoing clinical trials.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Roy is an Associate Professor within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Flinders University, where he plays an active role as a clinical tutor for advanced trainees in Medical Oncology and medical students. His clinical expertise covers the management of gastrointestinal cancers, hepato-pancreatic malignancies, neuroendocrine tumours, melanoma, and lung cancer.
